In high school, I was the biggest atheist I knew. I didn't believe in God, and I knew almost nothing about God or religion.
That changed when I went to college. I started to feel empty and to question what the point of my life was, and slowly I began to open up to God.
A month or two into that search, a man walked up to me on campus and asked if he could ask me a question.
“Do you know where you go when you die?”
I told him no, but that I'd been trying to figure that out. He walked me through a few verses from the Bible. I was still very skeptical, but I kept coming back. Every week I met with him, went to Bible study, and went to church.
A month or two later, I was convinced. I became a Christian on January 20, 2023, and I've never looked back.
Building a life
I still didn't like college, and I wanted to build a life for myself. So I tried different ways to make money online until I hit my stride in copywriting. I wrote copy for about six months while growing my following on Twitter, and through that I met a mentor who changed the direction of my work.
I started my own agency, Pest Control SEO, became well known in the pest control industry, and became a partner in Pest Control Millionaires, a community for pest control business owners. Along the way I interviewed a lot of people in local marketing and pest control, including more than 70 conversations on my first show, Local Marketing Secrets. That work gave me a sustainable income and taught me how to build an audience.

Why I started the show
Now I want to use everything I've learned about marketing and influence for something bigger. I started The Dan Leibrandt Show because it's one of the best ways I've found to reach and help a lot of people.
After a lot of thought and prayer about what the show should be, I came to believe the most relevant and useful thing I can focus on is navigating the future as a Christian. We're facing hard questions. What does it mean to be human? Should we merge with technology? Is the Antichrist coming? So I talk with theologians, serious thinkers, and the people building our technology and warning about where it's headed.
My aim is to share a message that is positive and true, for Christians and non-Christians alike, so that all of us can become more human.
What I'm writing
I'm working on a book, Optimized to Death, about how the things that make us human are being optimized away. More on it soon.
